My brother Collins,
We need to seriously talk. I knew the prevelance numbers of Uganda are a farce and fabricated based on the realities only in certain parts of Uganda. I have insider info on Northern Uganda that says a whole different story. The same situation in Kenya. Western Kenya and Nyanza have a very high prevalence especially anything around Lake Victoria and Homa Bay, Kisumu even in Kisii.
Who is trying to fool who with that news bulletin/report? I have disputed this already with the GF and I'm not buying into those lies that are published just for the GF to make more funding available in the name of programme effectiveness.
If I had the patience to complete my studies in Epidemiology I guess I woudl be the topdog now. But its not to late anyway..life has jsut begun. I aint no fool and I stay current with the trends.
Who is telling us that the LE (Life Expectancy) of Kenya and Uganda increased? I deliberately choose to ignore that in the news bulletin. I just wanted to see who will pick up on this...and Collins sure enough, you are sharpe like a razor and you know what you are talking about.
This is deception and we are asking the GF to issue a press statement on this matter immediately. The statement about increase in LE in light of the high prevalence in Northern Uganda and Western Kenya and the towns at the edge of the Lake Victoria have a 20- 40% prevalence just doesnt add up....How can the prevalence be up and the Life Expectancy increase?
Collins, dont take this lying down....you are on the ground and your people are dying without much intervention in terms of preventative care. Yes, there is a prevailing illiteracy in the North and gross underdevelopment because the LRA has ravaged the area for 2 decades. The scourge of AIDS has left the worst scar after the torture, mutilation, maiming and rape.
I should be in your area with my team to conduct a needs assesment some time next month and will give you particulars because we want to build an affiliate of the African Women Leadership Academy of Excellence to spurt economic growth and development in a totally neglected part of the world.
Where do we go from here is the GF doesnt stand up for us and buys into the deception of those countries? CCMs of Kenya and Uganda can you tell us what you know because the program oversight and coordination is not representing an accurate picture of what is on the ground.
Collins if you want to know how the GF operates you need to download from their website and also ask questions in this e-forum. Your Ugandan peers are all reading anyway and should give us information....
No one should report a prevalence of disease and only use certain parts of the country and ignore the epicentres of disease where the prevalence is outrages. Your ideas are good and we needs all stakeholders to come on board ...
