FUTURE SCENARIO - PROPOSAL

The Future Scenario in the specified field of The Global Fund

are diversified in successful outcomes.

The battle to contain the spread of malaria has produced good results. The distribution of nets by The Global Fund and other organizations has proved to be effective in curbing the spread of Malaria. Malaria is an environmental problem and external measures were successful.

The increasing epidemic of HIV/Aids and TB is very different in it’s’ manifestation. Medical intervention procures a level of reasonable health by trying to maintain the CD4 count above reaching Aids status.

The only prevention message disseminated is the use of condoms. Due to the high illiteracy level correct condom usage is not known amongst many. The ever increasing high incidence of reported cases reflects the inadequacy of the measures employed to curb the spread of the disease.

Perhaps a social scientific approach would prove more beneficial. HIV/Aids are a phenomenon dating back to the 80’s. It is a disease with no historic reference. All the theories regarding the disease are still being refuted by various sources.

Social behavior explained in a scientific schematic context seems to be the only way forward to address the disease. To adopt an appeal to the rational of every human for conscience social behavior would prove a difference in responsibility. While freedom is a prerogative of every human, unintended consequence is a reality not always envisaged by actions and events. The ravages of the ill effects of HIV/Aids are multi faceted. The truth is there is no cure to date for the disease. Death is still strongly associated with the disease and death ultimately results in widows and orphans.

The power of knowledge should be the basis of all health messages disseminated. It has the inherent possibility of transforming nations to act responsibly. Freedom and democracy, so much favored by societies, can be an instrument for progress and growth. Now it is regression.
