CAPPA – SOURDS – HAÏTI, (Centre d’Aide aux Personnes à Problèmes Auditifs) fondé au mois de Mai 1998, est une organisation philanthropique à vocation nationale, reconnu et enregistré au Ministère des Affaires Sociales et du Travail (MAST) au numéro : STE – 06001, son numéro d’immatricule fiscal est : 000 – 598 – 052 – 3. Il est apolitique, non confessionnel et à but non lucratif.
Sa mission est de : Travailler à la prévention des troubles de l’audition et à l’intégration psychosociale des personnes vivant avec une déficience auditive {Enfants, Jeunes, Adultes Sourds(es) et Malentendants(es)} en Haïti .
Ses objectifs sont les suivants:
1.Intégrer et accompagner psycho socio culturellement les personnes à problèmes auditifs {Enfants, Jeunes, Adultes Sourds(es) et Malentendants(es)} en Haïti ;
2.Prévenir la population entendante des polluants sonores et des autres causes de la Surdité ;
3.Promouvoir la langue des Signes même après sa reconnaissance officielle comme une troisième langue à part entière en Haïti ;
4.Informer / Sensibiliser les Sourds sur les IST / VIH, l’abus de la drogue, la grossesse précoce…

It is apolitical, non-denominational and non-profit. Its mission is: Working on the prevention of hearing and psycho-social integration of people living with a hearing impairment (Children, Youth, Deaf Adults (es) and Hearing (es)) in Haiti.
